World's Best Ski Towns - National Geographic

By houseadmin on Friday, February 17

Yep, word is out.  And, according to National Geographic, Truckee is one of the top 25 ski towns in the world.  The World.  "...Truckee has bloomed into a ski mecca, with no less than eight different ski areas within 15 miles."  Four of Daron Rahlves' favorite town picks are minutes away from The Richardson House.  We've always known Truckee is great.  Now the world knows.

Through March, TRH is offering a 4th night Free with a 3-night rental.  Take advantage of this offer and come see what Truckee has to offer.  Rahlves' favorite watering hole, the Pastime Club, is only a hop, skip and a jump away from the house.

Rumor Has It...

By houseadmin on Sunday, January 29

The Richardson House has become a hub of great interest from potential buyers as of late. Up until this stage, it was a concept we weren’t ready to consider.  After several weeks of emotional discussions, we have decided to open the house, for a period of three months, to the possibility of a sale.

Our potential buyer could be a past guest that fell in love with the house and would love to use it as their second home (all-the-while keeping the business running as a full-time vacation rental).  Another possible buyer could be one of our very own locals, looking for a wonderful family home and very special place to conduct business.  Or, it could quite possibly be an out-of-area investor that shares our long-term vision of the value of owning and operating this unique and completely refurbished magnificent home.

Whether we sell, or not, the home will remain very close to our hearts.

For now, we continue to carry on in a business as usual capacity providing our stream of guests with the utmost of service.  Please remember Truckee locals and their families receive a very special price structure and of course, our local not-for-profits remain invited to use the house anytime it isn’t otherwise booked.  Please contact Chelsea for details – This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. First Year Anniversary Open House a Huge Success!

By houseadmin on Thursday, July 14

Our Anniversary Celebration and Open House turned out well!  We gave tours of The Richardson House to over seventy people.  Local artists displayed their work in our beautifully blooming yard and Girl Scouts were serving cold lemonade to our guests.  Because of the great turn out, we were able to donate over one hundred dollars to the Truckee Donner Historical Society.   We wanted to thank all the artists, TDHS volunteers, Girl Scouts and Truckee Residents for the wonderful support they gave us by being there.  Did you miss the event but still would like to tour The House?  Contact Chelsea anytime to set up a private tour of The Richardson House.
